FAITH CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER CURRICULUM

Coming soon —-FCDC classroom pictures!

Our program is “child centered.”  Our curriculum is developmentally appropriate, as demonstrated through the use of carefully chosen themes, discussions, stories, activities, materials, games and toys.  Because young children learn through their senses, art activities will demonstrate this by using a wide variety of materials.  Songs and finger plays help children learn words and tunes, but they are also experiencing tempo and practicing fine motor skills.

Our pre-k curriculum is basically an enhancement of our four year old program.  Academic skills are stressed as well as cultural activities that include knowledge of other countries, authors, etc.  Each class has a routine that includes activities such as: story time, circle time, large motor and small motor skills (recess), art activities-unstructured and semi-structured, chapel time (two times a month), and free choice time at the various classroom centers.

You will read in the newsletter about the classroom themes that will be presented in different ways through the various activities in the classroom
