May 2008

Men of Faith,

Spring seems to be flying by, and we are approaching the summer months already.  It’s been a little cool, and I can’t wait for warmer weather.  Perhaps, that’s because Easter was so early this year.  Since I mentioned Easter, are you still celebrating Easter and our risen Savior each morning before you start the day?  As Christians we are the Easter people, and that’s a special way to start your day and to honor God.

Special thanks to all that helped at the annual Mulch-a-Thon last month. Check out the mulched areas, and you will see the fruits of a few faithful who mulched and weeded.  A special thanks to Curt Thomas for bringing his new toy tractor.  It sure made the task a bit quicker and created some envy. Another special thanks to Craig Clemens, our outside Property Team captain.  There are still lots of areas along the road to be mulched.  There’s lots of weeding, painting, and continuous mowing.  If you can offer time to these ongoing projects, please see Craig.  He could sure use your help.

The next event scheduled for the MOFIA is the Men’s Retreat being held May 2, 3 & 4.   We hope you signed up for this special event featuring Investment 101, for learning how to invest in your relationship with God, your family & your church.  Thanks again to Curt Thomas and his team for putting this retreat together (I don’t think he’s bringing his tractor).

Our June event will be a continental breakfast, Bible study and a good “old fashion” horseshoe competition.  If you thought darts were challenging¼. We’ll meet at the Rowdon’s “Sports and Fun” complex.  See the MOFIA bulletin board for details and directions.  Sign up early; you don’t want to miss this one.

REMEMBER THAT SUNDAY, MAY 10TH, IS MOTHER’S DAY.   You may want to spend some time working around the house on some of those “honey do” projects.  Mother’s day cards and flowers are fine, but don’t forget that a handwritten note or letter to that special mom in your life will mean more than you can imagine.  You can never tell your wife enough times how special she is to you.  Try it and see if she tells you to stop.

While I’m on that subject, I’ll share a couple little tips with you from our Sunday morning marriage class.  Try this for at least one week, and see if it has any effect on your relationship with your spouse (this works for the wives that read this article as well). The tips are a15 second kiss each day and a long hug.

Hope to see all of you at the Retreat and at the Rowdon’s on June 7th.

God bless,

Ron Stiegler
